'Les Sylphides' is a poem by Louis MacNeice. We have taken this as the basis for a multimedia performance piece, depicting how the cycle of everyday life can erode and break down romance. The piece combines live performance, pre-recorded and live mixed visuals with specially composed music.
This is a collaboration between:
– Sarah Brennan, Artistic Director of x-bel-air theatre company, whose remit is to create and premiere new work on the Irish stage.
– Jonah King, who is currently studying in NCAD after a year in St. Martins, London-Visual Design
– Seamas O'Reilly, who is currently studying History and English in T.C.D-Sound Design
and Pearl O'Rourke and Stephen Kelly, who have both appeared widely on stage and screen and have previously worked with x-bel-air on previous productions:"Sonnets for an Old Century" and "Time Flies"-Performers
