Posted by AlAug 2012Possible Metrics are a Montreal based group who produce short films and interactive projects. Gravity is an oldie but a real beauty, in which they create a rhythmic audio landscape inspired by smashing timing. Sonar is also an excellent video where they put the cart before the horse with excellent results. Making the sounds from the animation a custom which is rare.... [Read more]

Posted by Synth EastwoodAug 2012This month has been a great one for County Wicklow on a few fronts namely the solid gold that has come in the form of a collaboration of musicians from Arklow and Greystones. Singer Roisin Murphy has acquired the remix skills of Mano le Tough to great effect and releases a beauty on the ever-growing juggernaut Permanent Vacation records. A patient bassy rise to a lovely arpeggiated climax providing perfect accompaniment to this sunny ... [Read more]

Posted by Synth EastwoodAug 2012Keeping on the bike theme, this is a very short film telling the amazing story of 2 girls, 7 years, 10 million dollars worth of venture capital and 1 invisible bicycle helmet. Urban cycling is dangerous and let's face it nobody likes wearing the current bicycle helmets well Sweden's Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin have the answer, Hovding. Watch the film and find out how.... Posted by Synth EastwoodAug 2012A short animated film by the hands of Friends With You LA based artists who deal in the realm of friendly sharp graphics and more recently inflatable creatures. Posted by Synth EastwoodAug 2012Behold the world's newest and best treehouse, the unfortunatley entitled Fablab House. This award winning plywood structure was designed by an international team of Architects in the image of a tree. The roof of the building is covered in solar paneling which collects the suns energy and stores in large battery units forming the foundations in the root of the dwelling. The belly of the structure like a great oak is where living creatures seek refuge from the elements, but here instead of branch work there is a modern... [Read more]

Posted by Synth EastwoodAug 2012Lovely project to start the week from Irish illustrator living in London, Fuchsia Macaree. Taking Joe Duffy's Liveline as a starting point, Fuchsia has created hilarious grumbles and worries (not too far from the real thing) and illustrated them beautifully into a zine. Each page in itself would make a super print. We've ordered our copy and suggest you do too right this way. There's some great posters on sale there too. Brilliant work Fuchsia!... [Read more]
