Flatpack Festival 2011
Last year we were lucky enough to take part in the excellent Flatpack Festival in Birmingham. Packed with art, film and performance the multi-venue festival had something for everyone.
I’ve just had a good look through the 2011 brochure and it looks to be jam-packed with the same superb choices. Some highlights include The Vintage Mobile Cinema in which a refurbished 1960s mobile cinema will host screenings in various locations around the city, Pixel Visions explores early computer animation and Mind Bombs is a programme of psychedelic shorts and music videos which will be introduced by David Wilson.
One film I am especially keen to see is Rubber – a story of a tyre called Robert who rolls around killing people. It’s directed by Quentin Dupieux aka Mr Oizo with Gaspard Auge from Justice helping him out with the soundtrack.
The festival will be held in venues across the city from the 23-27 March 2011 and is most definitely worth a visit to Brum.
