Event Overview

On Saturday afternoon we hosted an open discussion on all things animated with D.A.D.D.Y. and Fergal Brennan. Crowd involvement was encouraged. The talk was entitled “Animators Anonymous”.

Later in the evening we invited David Kitt to play some records, our good friend Shocko played a live electronic set and Synth Eastwood interacted with the crowd and venue to create visuals for their live set.

The Lightbox Festival with was co-curated by Darklight and Cinema North West also profiled the work of hugely successful Irish animation company Cartoon Saloon, producers of Oscar nominated The Secret of Kells. The work of Jimmy Murikami, a founding father of Irish animation also featured.
