Darklight 2011 Launches Tonight

Our friends at Darklight kickstart their annual festival tonight in The Factory on Grand Canal Dock. This year’s theme is Strictly Roots and Darklight will “be celebrating the spirit of grassroots filmmaking; how friends and communities come together, and against the crazy backdrop of global financial meltdown still manage to make moving, hilarious, challenging and kick-ass films“.

Amongst the screenings, talks, workshops and exhibitions there are many collaborations with groups like U:Mack, Eat My Shorts and Hollywood Babylon (who are teaming up with Everything Is Terrible).

The Darklight Festival launches tonight at 7pm and runs until Saturday the 22nd Oct. All the info you need is here.
