Fergal Brennan & George Brennan
Random Patterns in a Chaotic Universe
Having collaborated on music video projects in the past, George Brennan (musician) and Fergal Brennan (animator) found themselves dissatisfied with ‘music videos’ where the filmic element was predetermined by an already finish audio piece. They set out to create a film where both creative mediums had a more fundamental impact on each other, and on the structure as a whole. The animation and music are meticulously programmed to be co-dependant from the ground up; using javascript, an akai sampler a keyboard, and various analogue effects units they have created this film. The structure is loosely based on the principle of an ever evolving complexity of mathematical & aesthetic rules. This is the first part in a series of films using this collaborative process.
