Event Overview

Darklight is Ireland’s premier festival for filmmakers, animators and artists whose work explores the convergence of art, film and technology.

In October 2009 they invited us to curate the “New Animation Shorts” package. From the hundreds submitted we whittled it down to a bumper 90 minute programme showcasing some of the best new animations from both emerging and established talents from all over the world. The screening took place in the Lighthouse Cinema.

As chaperons to our first date with Darklight we arranged for animators Fergal Brennan, D.A.D.D.Y, Lovely Productions & (newbie to animation but prolific illustrator) Chris Judge to give a talk about the joys and perils of animationships.

We called it Animators Anonymous.

These talks took place in The Joinery Gallery, Arbour Hill in Stoneybatter.
