Posted by AlJun 2011Todays Minimix comes from a very accomplished newcomer, Cork producer Toby Kaar. It provides a sweet insight into the music that influences his personal brand of down and up tempo electronica. Modestly in his own words "This mix is pretty much a testament to my inability to DJ". After hearing the span of his own tracks on Soundcloud and seeing him play them live I don't think anyone will be worrying about his DJing.... [Read more]

Posted by Synth EastwoodJun 2011Japanese Architects Jun Igarashi have taken a interesting approach to designing this single story bungalow entitled "House 0". What appears so private from the outside with the help of sneaky roof windows seems very light from the inside. The floor plan shows how all rooms are connected open plan from the centre out, with the rooms that branch out becoming smaller, cosier or lighter for their various uses. Good job.... [Read more]

Muvi.com is now showing the 30 minute short film exclusively on their site for a very limited time. Be quick and watch it now!... [Read more]

Posted by AlJun 2011Monday morning would be a perfect time for the yet to be invented "Real Time Pause Button". The button would allow optimised snoozing without waking up to missed calls. Stink Digital director Adam Berg has showcased the joy of pausing in glorius cinematic style in this bank robbery scene entitled "Carousel". All captured in one continuous tracking shot this mini epic is well worth a view. The making of video is just as interesting. ... [Read more]

Posted by AlJun 2011I've always liked the idea behind ATP events (All Tomorrows Parties), each year the organisers pick a band to curate the booking of the festival/concert. A unique approach that ensures deviation from the norm and gives an interesting insight into the favourite music of your favourites artists. This July at London's Alexandra Palace, Bristol legends Portishead are at the helm building an 2 day live playlist of their choosing...namely PJ Harvey, Grinderman, Swans, Caribou and many, many more. ... Posted by DaveyJun 2011We previously blogged about the High Line and last week I was lucky enough to visit it. Section 2 had just opened so there was an extra half mile to soak in. To celebrate the Miami based collective FriendsWithYou were invited to install a forty piece environmental installation entitled Rainbow City. Some pieces were up to 40 feet high! It was really great - a place where children young and old were encouraged to come and play. ... [Read more]

Posted by AlJun 2011I went to see Hugh Cooney do his live show on Wednesday night and he revealed two new video cuts. His style is a hard one to describe, I heard it put best in an article accompanying a show he did at Flatpack festival in Birmingham..."Mr Hugh Cooney is based in Dublin and has turned himself into a one-man production line for deranged youtube despatches which seem to be plucked straight......
